The two boys, one age 18 and the other 19, previously attended the high school they targeted. But it was all to pull a prank on a friend.

They created a Snapchat account in the friendā€™s name. Grabbed some photos from the friendsā€™ social media accounts and posted them to the fake Snapchat account. One photo was of the friend holding a gunā€”another personā€™s gun.

After the story aired the focus shifted from the bullied boy to his motherā€™s social media posts.

In the research Iā€™m sharing in this post, the same thing occurred. It makes me wonder why people shift the focusā€”to one-up the story?

I have a 12-year-old granddaughter (at the time of this post). This case made me think of her and a few of her friends. Sheā€™s experienced some bullying, but nothing like what happened in this case.
