Divorce can bring out the worst in people. Typically, by the time someone tosses out the threat of divorce, the two people aren’t fond of one another. The relationship took a fatal turn in this true-crime, when the 51-year-old wife told her 61-year-old husband she wanted a divorce, he became enraged.
A witness said the couple were in a park, arguing. He said he saw the husband, who he knew, grab ahold of his wife by the hair. The witness threatened to call in the emergency. The husband let loose of his wife. She ran away from him.
While his wife ran away from him, the husband got in his truck and ran her over. Not just once. He turned around and ran over her again. The woman died at the scene from massive internal injuries.
The husband fled the scene and drove to a nearby train crossing where he drove head on into the path of a train. Although the train demolished the vehicle, the murdering husband survived. The husband denied claims he had attempted to commit suicide by train.
After pleading guilty to murder, a judge sentenced him to 20 years in prison and five years of supervised release. #truecrime
