BLOG POST #168: This week, Iâm sharing research on a specific criminal case involving a ring of seven transportation employees.
Whoâs Minding The Shop?
The employees worked for the cityâs department of education (DOE), special education transportation division. Their jobs included setting the specifications for bus routes, overseeing bus routing bids from bus companies, securing transportation for field trips, and addressing vehicle safety issues found through random safety inspections.
Have you heard the term âPass the Trash?â I know of the practice, I didnât know there was a name for it. In a nutshell, you have an employee whose work performance is substandard for whatever reason, they’re given the choice to resign or be fired. If they resign, their substandard job performance is withheld when the next employer checks references – due to âconfidentialityâ requirements.
A foiled school shooting plot is always a good thing. I wish there would be more press time and evaluation about what lead to the plot in the first place.
