First, I want to apologize for the length of this post. To respect your time, I try to keep posts short. There was a lot of information on this case; I didn’t want to leave out any pertinent details. With that said, thank you for reading and caring about children.

BLOG POST #101: This week, I’m sharing research on a specific criminal case involving an American teacher, born and raised in New York, working at international schools which cater to the rich and super-rich.

The case referenced in this post deviates from my usual research of crimes taking place at or involving schools in the United States. Nonetheless, this case demonstrates how wily a pedophile can be.

Once A Pedophile Always A Pedophile?

When he was 19, he worked as a teacher’s aide. He was arrested and charged with lewd and lascivious behavior for fondling the penises of boys as young as seven while teaching them to swim. He pleaded guilty. Released after serving 90 days in jail, he was placed on the sex offenders register and required to tell authorities when he moved.

Robin Lyons' Blog Post #104If this is your first time reading my blog, thank you for your interest.

As you will read, my posts shine a spotlight on the dark side of what happens at or relating to schools.

Addiction can be a good thing as with exercise or healthy living, most often it’s not.

Many of us are addicted to something; alcohol, drugs, sugar, shopping, etc. My mother, for most of her adult life, was addicted to alcohol. I have more memories related to her drinking than I do of happy times in my childhood home.

To anyone living in the mid-west, camping out when school is on winter break in December must sound crazy. When you live near the beach, it’s perfectly normal. A warm campfire and sleeping under the stars can be a lot of fun.

For these two teachers, it may have been fun at the time, but the fun didn’t last. The 38-year-old teacher sent a group text message to a 30-year-old friend and fellow teacher, and to five male students. She asked them to join her at the beach to camp under the stars. All accepted.

BLOG POST #78: This week I’m sharing my research on a 33-year-old elementary school principal.

The month-and-a-half long investigation began with an anonymous tip about the school principal’s brother.

A search of the brother’s home found heroin and methamphetamine. From that drug bust, law enforcement learned of the school principal’s involvement.
